Police say a woman was drunk when she crashed her vehicle into a motorcycle early Sunday in southwest suburban Joliet, leaving a 36-year-old man dead.
The motorcyclist, Jaime Mendez Jr., was going north on Route 59 about 12:40 a.m. when 58-year-old Kathy M. Molitor drove into him near the intersection of Country Glen Court, according to Joliet police and the Will County coroner’s office.
Mendez, a Plainfield resident, was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center, where he died, authorities said.
Molitor, of Joliet, was arrested and charged with a felony count of aggravated DUI causing death, along with a misdemeanor DUI, according to police and the Will County sheriff’s office. She was also cited for making an improper left turn.
Molitor remained jailed Sunday and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
