A Lycoming County woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash in Perry County on Tuesday afternoon, state police said.
The victim was identified as Dawn A. Kinslow, 47, of Hughesville, according to authorities.
The crash occurred along Route 11/15 south, near the Liberty Travel Plaza, at about 2:45 p.m.
Investigators said Kinslow was a passenger in a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Tammy L. Smith, 48, of Hughesville, that was traveling south along Route 11/15.
Smith’s vehicle collided with the 2006 Volvo and trailer driven by Sebastian Macko, 37, of Ontario, Canada, as he made a left turn out of plaza, attempting to get to the northbound lanes, police said.
Troopers said Macko “failed to ensure that the roadway was clear of oncoming traffic before he began his left turn,” according to a news release.
“(Smith) was unable to stop (her car) and was unable to avoid a collision, striking the trailing unit of (Macko),” according to a news release.
Police said Smith and two other adult passengers in the car were taken to the Hershey Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police said Kinslow was the only person in the car who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Macko, who was also wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured in the crash, police said.
No charges have been filed. Police said they are continuing to investigate the crash.
