Tyron Smith, Dan Bailey, Dez Bryant questionable for Packers game

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith and kicker Dan Bailey both declared themselves ready for Sunday’s game at Green Bay after practice on Friday.

Each are listed as questionable on the Cowboys’ game status report released Friday afternoon, along with eight other players. But expect those two to play.

Smith said he felt good after working on a limited basis Friday.

Asked if he’d play Sunday, Smith said: “Yeah.”

Smith returned to the lineup last week against Cincinnati after missing two games with back spasms caused by a bulging disc. Smith said he’d have to manage the injury going forward.

Bailey, meanwhile, has also been dealing with a back issue since sleeping on too soft a bed before the San Francisco game. Bailey hasn’t had to miss a game and was a full participant in practice this week.

Bailey missed a practice the previous week, though.

“Last Wednesday was the first practice that I can remember missing, even in college,” Bailey said. “I did miss half a practice in college to go to my graduation ceremony.”

Bailey joked that he’s not too worried about the beds the Cowboys will have for the Green Bay game. They’ve stayed at the Paper Valley Radisson in Appleton, Wisconsin the past two years, and those beds get a thumbs up by Bailey.

“They had these Sleep Number beds, so hopefully I can dial it in and be good to go,” Bailey said.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant is also among 10 players listed as questionable, but owner Jerry Jones said he is “less than optimistic” that Bryant will be able to play this week. Bryant has missed the past two weeks with a hairline fracture in his right knee.

Others listed as questionable include tight end Jason Witten (chest), wide receiver Terrance Williams (shoulder), linebacker Kyle Wilber (neck), defensive linemen Terrell McClain (arm) and David Irving (concussion), cornerback Morris Claiborne (ankle), running back Lance Dunbar (knee).

Quarterback Tony Romo (back), swing tackle Chaz Green (foot) and cornerback Orlando Scandrick (hamstrings) have all been ruled out. In regards to Scandrick, it’s the earliest he’s been ruled out of a game since the hamstrings issues began.
