On the eve of the third, and final, presidential debate, Republican Donald Trump is turning to an unusual source to help him prepare.

Not his consultants. Not his advisers. Not even his sons and daughters, who have played a key role in the Manhattan mogul’s highly unorthodox campaign.

Instead, Trump is turning to his legion’s of loyal backers to help him formulate his debate strategy as he takes on Democrat Hillary Clinton at the University of Nevada/Las Vegas at 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.

Late afternoon on Wednesday, Trump’s supporters received an email, signed by the candidate himself, asking them to fill out a 30-question survey on a range of topics, from actual issues to attacks on Clinton’s record and character.

The email reads, in part:

“A huge wave of early voting is about to take place in swing states across the country. Millions of undecided voters will tune in to tomorrow night’s debate to decide how to cast their vote for America’s next commander in chief.
“This is our chance to convince America that only our campaign has the policies, ideas, and leadership necessary to fix our country.
“But I need your help making sure that there isn’t a single issue that we have yet to address on the debate stage. We need to be certain that we’ve made the absolute best case to the American people that the Trump-Pence ticket is the right ticket for America.”

Backers are asked to fill out the survey and to submit it by 6 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.
