Maui man killed in car wash accident

A 44 year-old Lahaina man was killed Monday while trying to enter a car after the vehicle exited the car wash.

Police said Scott Kawabata was attempting to park a Hyundai SUV at 8:35 a.m. at the Wash It Hawaii in Lahaina. He was partially out of the vehicle when it inadvertently reversed back through the car wash, hitting the interior of the facility several times.
