Telethon raises more than $50,000 for Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery
SPOKANE, Wash. -
KHQ’s annual Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery telethon was a huge success in 2016. People from around the region did what they did best Saturday and gave selflessly in support of the nursery.
Initial totals tabulated following Saturday morning’s telethon show we set a record for donations, raising $50,463 in a three hour span.
That greatly surpassed our goal of $35,000, which would allow the nursery to serve 100 children. It also topped last year’s fundraising total of $36,434.
Started more than 30 years ago, The Crisis Nursery helps parents who are having difficulty providing safe shelter and care for their children. They may be dealing with issues as complex as substance abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. Or, they may just be exhausted and worn-out from the demands of parenting.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make the telethon such an enormous success.
