DURHAM (WTVD) —
A man is in custody after two women were shot early Monday morning, one fatally.
Police identified the suspect as Larico Fonyte Dunn, 24, of Durham. He’s charged with murder.
Dunn was arrested Monday evening by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force.
He was detained during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Granville County.
The shootings happened just after 2 a.m. in the 900 block of Wadesboro Street.
Erika Desiree Downey, 25, of Durham was fatally shot. The second woman’s injury was described as a graze wound. She was not identified.
Dunn is also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. In addition, he’s wanted on charges from an domestic incident August 11 involving Downey. Those charges include assault on a female, assault by strangulation, misdemeanor larceny and injury to personal property.
