State police said Thursday afternoon that they are investigating a bogus active shooter report that sent troopers rushing to Central Dauphin High School.
Officers are working with school officials to determine the source of the unwarranted alert, police said. A district spokesman said a mother made the call to 911 Thursday morning.
Multiple troopers were on the scene when it was determined the call was false. The report, which circulated over social media, prompted numerous parents to rush to the school in reply to texts from their children asking to leave.
