(CNN) – Good news for college graduates looking for a job in certain industries.
According to salary guides from the staffing firm Robert Half, the five industries it monitors will see increases on average of about 3.6 percent in starting salaries in 2017.
Those are accounting and finance, creative and marketing, administrative and office support, legal and technology.
Paul McDonald, a Robert Half senior executive director, said that the individuals are in such high demand that the companies have to pay a higher starting salary, in addition to other perks, to attract and keep the individuals.
That could mean more money in your pocket if you are in the market for a new gig.
McDonald says employers today are looking for soft skills – including leadership skills, presentation skills, honestly – combined with technical abilities.
