Spokane problem house finally shut down, neighbors relieved
SPOKANE, Wash. -
A problem house is finally shut down. Neighbors say they’ve been dealing with all kinds of trouble there for years, and it all came to a head with a shooting that happened there on Tuesday.
This is on the 2100 block of West Sharp.
Neighbors, like Mark Salvino, are excited that the streets are quieter now that the house is empty.
“We were kind of thankful actually because the house has been trouble the whole time,” he says.
Neighbors say there was constant traffic on the street, with dozens of people going in and out of the house. And, “we’d see drug paraphernalia all over. I went to change the oil in my truck found a needle underneath it, almost laid on it,” Salvino says.
That’s not something he wants around his child. It’s also a family neighborhood.
“Not an ideal situation. A lot of the neighbors have been trying to get them kicked out for a while,” he says.
The neighbors kept a log of all their complaints and their efforts paid off. While it’s unclear what’s going to happen to the house, neighbors are relieved.
