PILLOW — Speed was a factor in a Friday evening crash in Northumberland County in which a Halifax man was killed, state police say.
Michael W. Ramer, 46, was driving at a high rate of speed about 7:10 p.m. when his vehicle crossed Klingerstown Road three miles east of Pillow, hit an embankment and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof, they said.
Ramer was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected, said Northumberland County Coroner James F. Kelly who listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.
A juvenile passenger, whose name police did not disclose, was flown to Geisinger Medical Center near Danville. No information on the passenger’s condition was available.
