The Swatara Middle School was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday morning over a perceived threat on social media post, according to officials.
Swatara Township police said they responded to a reported “threat to the school” along the 1100 block Highland Street, but later found it to be untrue.
According to a statement from the school sent to parents, the building was placed on lockdown following a post on Snapchat.
“Swatara Police quickly responded and determined that the claim on the post was unfounded and that there was no threat to the staff and students at Swatara,” according to the statement.
