President Obama Would Be ‘Insulted’ if Black Community Does Not Vote for Hillary Clinton

On Saturday, Sept. 17, President Barack Obama urged Black voters to continue his legacy by voting for Hillary Clinton, in his final speech at the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington D.C.

In the 22-minute speech, Obama says it would be a personal insult if Black voters sat out the 2016 election.

About 12 minutes in, he addressed the latest laws nationwide that have restricted voting and closed polling places in minority communities.

For three minutes, the president talks about the history of voting in the Black community.

Ultimately, Obama asks his fellow politicians to get people — Black people — to register to vote.

“Realize that everything that we stand for is at stake,” he says. “… My Name may not be on the ballot but our progress is on the ballot. Tolerance is on the ballot … I will consider it a personal insult. An insult to my legacy if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election. You want to give me a good send-off, go vote.”
