GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Nearly 2,000 Consumers Energy customers in Grand Rapids lost power Sunday afternoon after a tree fell on an electrical line.
The tree came down around 1:45 p.m. on Madison Avenue SE near Brown Street, breaking several utility poles, according to Consumers.
Crews are working to fix the damage, which was described as “significant.” They will be some road closures in the area as repairs are underway.
It’s not yet clear when power will be back on.
