A man was fatally shot early Saturday in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood, police said.
About 7 a.m., officers responding to reports of shots fired in the 2600 block of West 23rd found the 26-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound, according to Chicago Police.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death Saturday morning.
Officers also saw a vehicle drive away from the scene, police said. When they attempted to pull it over, the driver threw a gun out the window.
