West Hempfield Township police have identified a 60-year-old man killed in a single vehicle crash Wednesday.
Charles Harrison Jr., 66, of Hudson, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland, died after a crash at around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Spooky Nook and Prospect roads in West Hempfield Township.
Harrison’s 2010 Ford F-150 was heading south on Spooky Nook Road when it entered the curve area of Prospect road, left the roadway and rolled several times, police said. The pickup truck came to a stop in a field. Harrison, who was wearing a seatbelt, was found by an off-duty EMT and others who unsuccessfully in attempts to save the crash victim.
A Lancaster county deputy coroner pronounced Harrison dead at the scene.
West Hempfield Township police are also investigating a separate crash at around 7:15 p.m. on the Route 30 bridge involving two motorcycles and two SUVs. The motorcycle operators were taken to York area hospitals.
Route 30 was closed for around five hours as officials cleared the crash.
