A male was shot early Wednesday while driving onto the Bishop Ford Freeway on the South Side.
He was driving south from Stony Island Avenue and entering the southbound lanes of I-94 when shots rang out and he was struck in the arm, according to Illinois State Police Trooper Julio Castillo.
The vehicle came to rest about 1:35 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway, near 111th Street, Castillo said. The male, whose age was not known, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
As of 3 a.m., the ramp from Stony Island to southbound I-94 was closed to traffic while Illinois State Police investigated the shooting.
