An overturned tanker truck shut down U.S. 377 in Argyle near Liberty Christian School on Friday morning.
As of 10 a.m., the road was still expected to be closed in both directions for several hours, Argyle Police Chief William Tackett said.
The accident, which involved only the truck, happened about a half-mile from Liberty Christian School about 7 a.m. Police have closed U.S. 377 from Frenchtown Road to Canyon Falls Drive, Tackett said.
Investigators were still working to determine the cause of the wreck. No gas leaked from the tanker truck, but crews were having to transfer the gas to a different truck, slowing the cleanup process, Tackett said.
U.S. 377 was closed for several days in August after a train derailed north of Trophy Club, a few miles south of the Argyle accident Friday.
