At Rockland, Chris Farnsworth’s 28-yard touchdown run gave the Trojans a 14-6 lead and the Trojans escaped with the victory when a potential game-winning 25-yard field goal attempt failed with no time remaining.
The Mariners had pulled within 14-12 when Brandon DeBrosky tossed a five-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Marsh with 1:10 remaining.
The two-point conversion pass failed but the Mariners recovered DeBrosky’s onsides kick at the Oceanside 43-yard line.
The Mariners marched to the MDI-8 but the field goal attempt fell short.

Andrew Phelps threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Luke Mitchell on fourth down to open the scoring in the second quarter after Drew Rich returned a punt 72 yards to the Mariner-8. Rich kicked the extra point.
DeBrosky cut the lead to 7-6 early in the third quarter with a 41-yard run after Kirt Ilvonen recovered a fumble.
DeBrowsky completed 16 of 38 passes for 159 yards and he also rushed for 77 yards on 16 carries. Gage Robinson ran for 84 yards on 12 carries and Jack Freeman caught eight passes for 65 yards for the Mariners.
MDI improved to 6-1 and Oceanside fell to 4-3.
MDI rushed for 121 yards on 36 carries.
