A 35-year-old man who took himself to Trinity Hospital told police he was shot in the Calumet Heights neighborhood Sunday afternoon on the South Side.
The man said he was smoking a cigarette on a sidewalk in the 9300 block of South Stony Island when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been hit in the right leg, according to Chicago Police. He was listed in good condition.
Investigators were not able to locate a crime scene. The man has documented gang ties, police said.
