Authorities are investigating a shooting that reportedly somewhere happened in Lancaster Thursday morning.
The 19-year-old man told police he was shot in the area of Reservoir Park on the 700 block of East King Street. The man’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, police said.
Detectives checked the area but were unable to find any evidence of a shooting. Additionally, no shots fired or suspicious activity had been reported before the man showed up at the hospital, police said.
At around 12:44 p.m. on the 500 block of West Orange Street, police conducting a follow-up investigation found blood on the sidewalk and steps leading up to the address they were checking. When attempting to make contact with the occupants of the residence, police saw at least two males exit the home from a dormer window onto the roof.
Officers saw the males throw items from the residence in question to a neighboring yard. Believing that evidence was being tampered with, police entered the home and found three adult men inside, including the two males who had gone onto the roof. Police have secured the home on West Orange Street and have applied for a search warrant on the property.
The shooting and its location are still under investigation. No charges have been filed at the time of this post. Police said the incident does not appear to be random, adding that there is no danger to the public.
