A man has been charged with attacking a woman who was jogging in the River North neighborhood Saturday morning.
Carl Freeman, 34, of the 3200 block of South Halsted was charged with a felony count of aggravated battery/public place and a felony count of aggravated battery/strangulation, according to Chicago Police.
At 5:49 a.m., Freeman approached the 25-year-old from behind while she was jogging in the 200 block of West Kinzie, police said. He grabbed her by the thoat and threw her to the ground. The two struggled until witnesses called out and Freeman ran away.
Freeman, who is a convicted felon, was arrested Thursday, police said. He is expected to appear in court Saturday.
