KINGWOOD, WEST VIRGINIA – The man accused of gunning down a motorist on Interstate 81 in Franklin County was sentenced on Wednesday in connection with another killing in another state.
John Wayne Strawser Jr., of Terra Alta, West Virginia, was ordered to serve life in prison without parole by a judge in Preston County Court.
Police say he shot and killed ex-girlfriend, Amy Lou Buckingham, in Tunnelton, West Virginia, on April 15 2015, then led police on a high-speed chase across the county.
Now that he has been sentenced in his West Virginia case, Strawser will soon be brought to Pennsylvania, where he’ll face another set of murder charges in connection with the January 2014 shooting death of Timothy “Asti” Davison on Interstate 81 near the Greencastle exit.
