It’s clean, it’s painted, the lights work and you don’t feel like a slab of concrete will fall on your head at any moment.
Welcome to the completed phase one of the renovation of the underpass on Market Street in Harrisburg.
After being closed for weeks, the pedestrian walkway on the north side of underpass beneath the railroad tracks by the Harrisburg Transportation Center is reopened and looking at least as good as new.
The concrete facings have been repaired and light yellow paint has been applied. For the moment, there is no graffiti. The lights have been refurbished as well.
Much work remains. The southern pedestrian walkway is now closed for renovation. The traffic lanes remain in their crumbling state.
