Madison man found dead after apparent ATV crash in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A 56-year-old Madison man was found dead Sunday after an apparent all-terrain vehicle crash, according to the Maine Warden Service.

The man, whose name was not immediately released Sunday afternoon, was found by a family friend about a mile from his camp in Skowhegan, where he had been staying, Maine Warden Service Lt. Dan Scott said.

Scott said it appeared that the man lost control of his ATV and rolled over into a ravine, with the ATV coming to rest on top of him.

“His family became concerned when they had not heard from him since Thursday night,” Scott said late Sunday afternoon in a news release. “They went looking for him this morning and quickly located him alongside the trail.”
