Los Angeles firefighters Monday evening are working to put out several small spot fires burning along the 118 Freeway in the Pacoima area, officials said.
The incident was reported about 5:35 p.m. along the eastbound side of the highway near Paxton Street.
The blazes were burning near homes in the area.
Firefighters battling the fires along the highway and traffic did not appear to be impacted, aerial video from Sky5 showed.
Residents in the nearby homes were helping firefighters battle the blaze with shovels and water hoses, aerial video showed.
Another blaze appeared to be burning near the Glenoaks Boulevard and Osborne Street area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
