It looks like basketball superstar LeBron James is headed to college.

The 2016 Finals MVP announced his plans to attend school once his schedule allows, reiterating the fact that he has always had the desire to go to college and earn his degree. James has accomplished virtually every feat in the world of basketball, so now couldn’t be more of a fitting time to tackle the beast that awaits him in a college classroom.

“I promise, I say this all the time — if I had one year of college, I would have ended up [at Ohio State University],” James told a group of OSU fans of his college dreams in 2013. “No matter where I go in the world, no matter where it is, I will always rock Ohio State colors.”

Despite his strong ties to the OSU Buckeyes, James now has his heart set on another institution — the University of Akron.

According to CavsNation.com, James was predicted to be one of the greatest high school players ever and a once-in-a-lifetime talent, so it was a no-brainer that he would skip college to pursue a career in the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers player has since been heavily involved with the University of Akron, spending roughly $41 million to send over 1,100 kids to college through his I PROMISE Program.

“When we first started this program, I wanted my kids to graduate from high school,” James said. “But the more we grow as a foundation, the more we find can be done to give our kids the best chance to be successful.”

“We don’t just want our kids to get to college,” he continued. “We want them to graduate from college. And we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to help them do that.”

James said he’s now ready to start down the path of his college career, too — as soon as he can free up some time from his busy basketball schedule.

“I’m signed up at the University of Akron for whenever I’m able to get a little bit of down time, he told the Akron Beacon Journal. “That’s always been a conversation that took place to take some college courses, take some classes. So right now I just do a lot of reading, book reading, and obviously I’m around some really good people that I kind of take their knowledge and sort it into my mind.”

As for the course of study he plans to take, James said he has always had a love for history and math.

“I love world history — just the history of how everything was put together,” he said. “I love that part of things, and people that founded the world, made this world such a beautiful place. I’m pretty fond of that.”
