WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A Wyoming landlady accused of taking advantage of potential renters pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.

Angela Arvizu, who also goes by Angela Graves, was arrested on Monday and arraigned the following day on three counts of larceny by false pretenses in Wyoming District Court.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges and is expected back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Oct. 20. She is being held in the Kent County Jail on a $2,500 bond.

Arvizu is accused of charging potential renters for background checks with no intention of leasing to them.

Several apartment hunters called police to complain that Arvizu was collecting application fees and failing to follow up.

When Target 8 tracked her down in September, they found her living in the home she was showing to potential renters. However, Arvizu claimed she had done nothing wrong.
