Sunrise the clown, also known as Dawn Pearson, has been putting smiles on people’s faces for 34 years. Her mission to make others happy is one she takes to heart.
“A merry heart goes good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones, and I think He gave me this to do, you know, make people happy,” said Pearson.
But with clowns making threats on Facebook, including Idaho, Sunrise says it starts to break her spirit.
I have a lot of clown friends around the country that are hearing these things, too, and it’s just disheartening to all of us,” said Pearson. “You want to be able to go out and have fun, and if people are tainting it like this, it’s just making it harder for us to go out because then more people are afraid of us.”
Despite the threats from clowns across the country, Pearson said she won’t let it affect her business.
“What I do is try to make it a happier place, because there’s so many worries in the world, that we don’t need that,” said Pearson.
