Ice cream, dog food brands pulled from store shelves

Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Market is removing from its shelves a certain variety of Turkey Hill Dairy ice cream, as well as several varieties of MARS Petcare dog food.

According to the store, select 48 oz. containers of Turkey Hill Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream are being recalled because the packages may contain the Rocky Road flavor instead of the intended variety.

These packages contain almonds and eggs, which are allergens not listed on the ingredient label.

The product is still safe for those without allergies to almonds or eggs.

The store has received no report of illnesses.

Also, the following varieties of dog food have been recalled because hard, white pieces of plastic contaminated the product during the production process, creating a potential choking hazard.

The dog foods are:

  • Cesar Classics Filet Mignon, 3.5 oz.,
  • And Cesar Classics Varety Pack, 23 pack.

All date codes are affected.

No injuries have been reported.

Consumers who purchased these products should discard them and bring their receipts to Giant or Martin’s for a full refund.
