A fire in rural Hood County grew to 10 acres Tuesday afternoon but was kept under control and didn’t threaten any buildings, a spokesman for the Texas A&M Forest Service said.
Forest Service firefighters were dispatched about 11:45 a.m. to the fire between Tolar and Granbury, near Friendship Road, spokesman Phillip Truitt said.
The fire was burning through an area heavy with mesquite trees, making it difficult to find room to fight flames. But the fire was expected to be over soon, Truitt said at 2 p.m.
The cause of the fire was not yet known.
