Parts of the midstate could receive more than an inch of rainfall from Saturday evening through early Monday morning, according to forecasters with AccuWeather and the National Weather Service at State College.
“The rainfall will mostly be the result of a storm system moving in from the Midwest and another sitting over the Atlantic Ocean,” according to AccuWeather.
As of Saturday morning, the most rainfall was expected on Sunday afternoon and evening in the Carlisle, Harrisburg, York, Lebanon and Lancaster areas, according to the National Weather Service.
For Saturday, expect 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, with a high around 81. The low at night will be around 69. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.
SUNDAY: There will be a 70 percent chance of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 80. Rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SUNDAY NIGHT: There will be a 70 percent chance of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. The low will be around 66. Rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
MONDAY: A 30 percent chance of rain showers before 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.
Low at night around 59.
TUESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 83. Low around 58.
WEDNESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 81. Low around 57.
