HALE COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -
All Hale County schools are on soft lock down because of recent threats from clowns on social media, the superintendent confirms.
Superintendent Osie Pickens says the soft lock down allows movement inside the school, but all doors are locked.
The soft lockdown comes the day after schools in the south Alabama town of Flomaton were placed on lock down for more than an hour on Thursday. The source of that threat came from the Flomo Klown Facebook page.
An arrest warrant has been signed for an adult in the Flomaton “Flomo Klown” case, WALA reports.
The source of the threat that caused Hale County schools to go on lock down is unclear.
Creepy clown sightings have prompted concerns in multiple states, including Georgia and South Carolina.
