Just hours after “Kraziness in the Kennel,” Gonzaga point guard Josh Perkins was arrested for physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.
Washington State Patrol tells KHQ that Perkins was behind the wheel while under the influence early Sunday morning.
Police did not see him driving, but Perkins allegedly told officers that he was planning on driving while the car was still parked.
The state patrol was then called in, and placed Perkins under arrest.
Troopers say that Perkins was cooperative throughout the process.
Head coach Mark Few issued a statement through the athletic department to SWX:
“We take this situation very seriously, and we will give Josh the support that he needs to help him learn from this. He understands the serious nature of the charge and has made a commitment to the process within the university.”
Perkins’ pre-trial hearing for his misdemeanor charge is set for November 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Coach Mark Few has not indicated whether or not Perkins will face suspension.
