Fundraising page, clothing drive set up for Farmington fire victims

FARMINGTON – The cause of a fast-moving fire that destroyed a home at 877 Whittier Road on Tuesday morning is undetermined because of the destruction, Fire Rescue Capt. Tim “TD” Hardy said Wednesday.

Owners Chris and Pam Boyker Smith and their six children lost everything except what they had with them. A boy who had stayed home from school sick was able to get dogs and a kennel of puppies out of the house with the help from hunters passing by.

Jyss Beaudreault of Farmington, a family friend, set up a gofundme.com page to assist the family. As of Wednesday morning it had surpassed the $2,000 goal. The American Red Cross of Maine has also helped the family on Tuesday.
