Friends, family gather to remember man killed in Post Falls crash
POST FALLS, Idaho -
Wednesday night friends and family of David Parent gathered in Post Falls to remember the 32-year-old man killed at the intersection of Pleasant View and Prairie road on Monday.
“It’s just really hard accept that he’s actually gone,” said Allen Pearson, a family member.
Investigators say that Parent failed to stop at the intersection, hitting another car driven by Timothy Stinson, who suffered serious injuries.
Family members of Parent say they want to see something done with the intersection that they call unsafe.
“This is a very dangerous intersection. I myself have almost been hit almost a dozen times,” Pearson said.
KHQ talked to the Post Falls Highway District who says they’ve looked into the issue. In fact, they’ve decided to install either a traffic signal or a roundabout at the intersection. The board of commissioners is making a decision on that next week.
“It’s about time,” Pearson said. “It’s about time that the county got off their butts and do something about it. People are needlessly dying because of other people that don’t pay attention, or that are careless.”
