Pittsburgh won the Eastern Conference Final in five games, and game 5 was a 6-0 shutout over the Flyers.
The Pens lost the Stanley Cup to the Detroit Red Wings that year.
But the Pens defeated Detroit the following year and won the Stanley Cup.
