Firefighters pulled a man out of a burning Waipahu home early this morning.
The call for the 2-alarm fire on Kipouo Street came in to firefighters at 5:52 a.m. Nine fire companies responded with 31 personnel to find the one-story home with flames and smoke shooting out the side, according to the fire department.
Firefighters found the 88-year-old man during their search of the home. He was brought out and treated before being taken to the hospital by paramedics.
The fire was brought under control by 6:12 a.m. and fully extinguished by 6:24 a.m., according to the fire department.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire and the estimate of damage.
