Eddie Royal ruled out, Josh Sitton is doubtful for Packers game

The Bears’ offense will be down two starters against the rival Packers Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

Receiver Eddie Royal was ruled out with a toe injury. Left guard Josh Sitton was listed as doubtful because of his ankle injury. Neither player practiced in any capacity this week. They suffered their injuries Sunday against the Jaguars.

Royal has been one of the Bears’ most consistent performers this season. He has 29 catches for 338 yards and two touchdowns in six games.

Sitton, meanwhile, is expected to miss his first matchup against the Packers, who released him on Sept. 3. The Bears signed Sitton to a three-year, $21 million deal, and he quickly solidified the interior of their offensive line.

If Sitton sits as expected, it will be the first time that the Bears’ offensive line is without a starter this season. Eric Kush is expected to play in Sitton’s place.

In a positive development, cornerbacks Tracy Porter (knee) and Bryce Callahan (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis. They are officially listed as questionable after not practicing at all on Tuesday.

It also appears as if linebacker Leonard Floyd (calf) will play. He’s listed as questionable. He took part in practices on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rookie cornerback Deiondre’ Hall (ankle) also was ruled out.

Quarterback Jay Cutler (thumb), defensive lineman Eddie Goldman (high-ankle sprain) and running back Jeremy Langford (high-ankle sprain) are listed as doubtful again, but they haven’t practiced in weeks.

The following players are questionable, but are expected to be active against the Packers: inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman (wrist), outside linebacker Sam Acho (ribs), tight end Zach Miller (ribs) and running back Ka’Deem Carey (hamstring).
