Dak Prescott breaks Tom Brady’s record for most attempts without an interception

Dak Prescott has made history.

The Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback passed Tom Brady for most pass attempts without an interception to start a career.

Prescott entered Sunday’s game eight pass attempts shy of breaking the record, and he reached the mark late in the first quarter on a 15-yard completion to Terrance Williams.

That marked the 163rd pass attempt by Prescott in his career, which is one better than Brady’s previous record (162).

Prescott opened the game 5-for-5 passing, connecting with Cole Beasley for a 1-yard TD pass.

Prescott hasn’t made a big deal about the record in recent weeks, saying much of it comes down to good fortune. He threw what should have been an interception in Week 4 at San Francisco, but 49ers safety Eric Reid dropped it.

Prescott has turned the ball over twice on fumbles. Three plays after setting the record on Sunday, he had a lost fumble.
