A driver who fled from officers who tried to pull him over for a burned-out headlight sped through Marietta at 80 mph before crashing into a porch where two people were standing, Susquehanna Regional Police said Friday.
Police said the pursuit of Skyler M. Barr, 20, began just after 3 a.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East Market Street. Barr, who has no fixed address, committed several traffic violations before abandoning his car after he collided with the porch in the first block of Apple Avenue and with another nearby building, they said.
No one was hurt, police said, but the porch collapsed and the other building sustained significant damage.
When apprehended, Barr lied about his identity and threatened an officer, they said. He was sent to Lancaster County Prison on charges of with making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, drunken-driving, fleeing police, providing false identification and driving on a suspended license.
