Brewer girls soccer team shuts out Lawrence

BREWER, Maine — Haley Robertson and Maria Low each scored a second-half goal to lead the Brewer girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over Lawrence of Fairfield on Tuesday.

Emily Lord recorded an assist for the 7-5 Witches. Rose McLaughlin and Libby Hewes combined to save 11 shots.

Haley Reynolds saved 25 of 27 shots for 3-9-1 Lawrence.

Bangor 2, Hampden Acad. 0

At Hampden, Bangor received unassisted first half goals from Luci Clein and Libby Spekhardt en route to the win over Hampden.

Maddie Hodgdon came up with seven saves for 12-0 Bangor.

Emily Dysart recorded 7 saves for 5-6-1 Hampden.

JV: Bangor 2-0

Katahdin 5, East Grand 2

At Danforth, Bailey Moody-Kay recorded a hat trick as Katahdin of Stacyville defeated East Grand.

Hannah Kyllonen and Erin Lake added goals for 6-4-3 Katahdin.

Haleigh Shay netted both goals for 3-10 East Grand.

Waterville 4, Leavitt 0

At Turner, Sophie Webb knocked in a pair of goals to lead Waterville past Leavitt.

Anika Elias added a goal and two assists and Jordan Jabar a goal for Waterville. T.T. Brandon came up with three saves.

Shelby Varney had 10 saves for Leavitt.

Field Hockey

Mattanawcook Acad. 5, Hermon 0

At Lincoln, Kim Voisine recorded three goals while Emma Page tallied two as Mattanawcook shut out Hermon.

Emily Tolman assisted on three of the goals for the 6-8 Lynx. Madison Page saved two of four shots.

Emily Morgan saved nine of 15 shots for 4-9-1 Hermon.

Brewer 4, Bangor 1

At Brewer, Maria Maxsimic recorded her first career hat trick, with all three goals coming in the second half as Brewer triumphed.

MJ Sellars scored the first goal of the game in the game’s opening minute for Brewer. Michele Maybury had six saves on ten shots.

Jillian Henderson scored early in the second half for Bangor. Kahia Maheox had three saves on thirteen shots.

JV: 1-1

Cony 4, Hampden Acad. 0

At Hampden, Sophie Whitney led Cony of Augusta with two goals as it defeated Hampden.

Kami Lambert and Delaney Keithley also scored for the 9-3-2 Rams. Jacqueline Carlton saved the only shot she faced.

Ruby Ramsay made 12 saves on 16 shots for 6-7-1 Hampden.

Belfast 10, Erskine Acad. 0

At Belfast, Kylie Nelson had three goals and four assists as Belfast rolled past Erskine Academy of South China.

Victoria Curtis netted a goal plus an assist for 13-1 Belfast. Anna Baiungo notched a goal and three assists while Hannah Sanderson, Lindsay Bruns, Cassidy Clark, Jillian Young and Kelsey Mehuren added goals and Alia Wallace an assist. Morgan Fernald saved the only shot she faced.

Hannah Burns saved 17 of 33 shots for 4-10 Erskine.

MCI 3, Mount View 1

At Thorndike, Madisyn Hartley, Danielle McAlpine and Deangeliz Urena netted a goal apiece to lead Maine Central Institute past Mount View.

Elspeth Taylor saved 12 of 13 shots for the 12-2 Huskies of Pittsfield.

Rachelle Ravin scored the only goal for 7-7 Mount View, and Jessie Blanchette had the assist. Alexis Bowman made 12 saves on 15 shots.

Boys Soccer

Brewer 1, Lawrence 0 (OT)

At Fairfield, Cam Wood’s goal 28 seconds into overtime lifted Brewer to the win over Lawrence.

Gavin Matthieu set up Wood’s goal for the Witches. Jon Wood saved all three shots.

Alexander Owens came up with seven saves on eight shots for Lawrence.

JV: Brewer 3-2

Schenck 3, Mattanawcook Acad. 1

At East Millinocket, Colby Hannan scored the second of his two goals in the second half to lift Schenck past Mattanawcook of Lincoln.

Chris King added a goal and Travis Thompson, Riley Dionne and Mitchell McDunnah assists for Schenck. Justin Thompson saved five of six shots.

Corbett Arnold came up with 16 saves on 24 shots for Mattanawcook.

Orono 9, Dexter 1

At Dexter, Trent Lick notched a hat trick while Braden Selby scored a pair of goals as Orono rolled past Dexter.

Calvin Murphy had a goal plus an assist for 11-1 Orono. Aiden Crane, Joseph Astumian and Nathan Shemwell added goals and Ben Allan-Rahill and Lick added assists.

Matt Hanscome made eight saves on 20 shots for 1-10 Dexter.

Lee Acad. 5, Penobscot Valley 2

At Lee, Nur Tailaiti scored a pair of goals while Yared Mamo scored one and assisted on four others to lead the Pandas past Penobscot Valley of Howland.

Tailaiti also had an assist while Randy McLeod and Mike Noyes added goals for 6-5-1 Lee. Matty Knowles made nine saves on 20 shots.

Cody Sirois and Brady Harding scored the goals for 5-3-4 PVHS, with Harding adding an assist. Jaeden Folster stopped 12 of 18 shots.

Piscataquis 6, Penquis 0

At Guilford, Dillon Drew scored a pair of goals to lead Piscataquis past Penquis of Milo.

Bryce Gilbert, Damyan True, Cam Kane and Nick Easler contributed a goal apiece for 4-6-2 PCHS. Tyler Febus made 13 saves on 17 shots.

Justin Valvo saved 10 of 21 shots for 3-7-1 Penquis.

East Grand 3, Katahdin 0

At Danforth, Thomas Gilman, Noah Sixberry and Phillip Farley scored second-half goals as East Grand shut out Katahdin.

The Vikings improved to 4-5-3.

Tanner Lane came up with 21 saves on 25 shots for 0-12-1 Katahdin of Stacyville.

Jonesport-Beals 4, Narraguagus 0

At Jonesport, Joe Guptill tallied two goals while Adam Robinson and Ryan Alley had one to lead Jonesport-Beals past Narraguagus of Harrington.

Ryan Alley, Maiden Crowley and Austin Grant added assists for the Royals. Austin Grant and Brady Reynolds did not have to make a save.

Drew Fletcher and Alex Haire combined on nine saves on 13 shots for Narraguagus.

Ashland 5, Central Aroostook 1

At Mars Hill, Kyle Beaulier and Alex Kaiser scored two goals apiece to lead Ashland past Central Aroostook.

Lucas Craig added a goal for the Hornets.

Jacob Carvell scored for Central Aroostook, with Caleb Harris getting an assist.

Easton 4, Van Buren 0

At Van Buren, four different Easton Bears had a goal apiece in the win over Van Buren.

Hunter Brown, Noah Hanscomb, Kooper Kinney and Mike Brown all scored for the 8-3-1 Bears. Isaac Currier and Elias Coy added assists.

Van Buren falls to 1-9-2.
