Sections of local roads in northwest suburban Bensenville will close Monday as part of the Illinois Route 390 Tollway project.
Closures on Sievert Court and northbound Thomas Drive south of Thorndale will begin at 7 a.m. Monday and continue into November, according to a statement from the Illinois Tollway.
Until the realignment of Sievert Court is complete, traffic will detour onto a temporary road to Thorndale Avenue then east to York Road, the Illinois Tollway said.
After the project is finished by the end of the year, Sievert Court will connect to the Illinois Route 390 frontage road. Drivers will be able to access York Road and the new Illinois Route 390 Tollway from the frontage road. The closure of Thomas Drive will allow a new intersection at the south frontage road to be built, according to the Illinois Tollway.
Electronic message signs and detour signage will be put in place to alert drivers to dates and times of additional road closures or detours, the Illinois Tollway said.
