SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine — G.A. Morgan will give a special sneak preview and reading of “The Kinfolk,” the third book in her The Five Stones Trilogy, an adventure-fantasy story for 8-14-year-olds inspired by her own adventures on and around Mount Desert Island, 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Southwest Harbor Public Library, 338 Main St.
Story continues below advertisement.
The Five Stones Trilogy tells the story of the three Thompson brothers and their neighbors, the two Boudreaux sisters, who travel to a mysterious island called Ayda, where four realms are locked in a destructive struggle for power. The books have received praise for the author’s world-building skills, the philosophy that infuses the adventure, and the strong individuality of the large cast of characters. Book One, “The Fog of Forgetting,” debuted in 2014, and earned the Silver Moonbeam award for pre-teen fantasy fiction. It was followed in 2015 by “Chantarelle.”
All three books are published by Yarmouth-based Islandport Press.
There will be books offered for purchase and signing, and light refreshments will be served. There also will be a fun quiz to take to see where your personality would fit on the Isle of Ayda: Melor, Metria, Exor, or Varuna? For information, call the library at 244-7065.
