A Lebanon man who police say jump out of his car and fired shots while assaulting an acquaintance is now facing multiple criminal charges.
City police said Wednesday that Frank Estrada-Vargas, 50, saw his victim on the sidewalk in the 400 block of Ninth Street just after 5:35 p.m. Tuesday. They said Estrada-Vargas stopped his car, attacked the victim and fired his gun.
No one was injured, police said. They said multiple witnesses helped them identify Estrada-Vargas as the shooter and helped locate the discarded pistol. The gun was reported stolen in Lehigh County in 2010, investigators said.
Police said Estrada-Vargas is in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail on charges including receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence.
