Northern Lebanon Township police quickly apprehended a man accused of robbing the Ebenezer branch of Jonestown Bank this morning.
Christopher Leedom, 33, of Brookfield Drive, Lebanon, was charged with robbery, theft, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault and resisting arrest. He was taken to central booking for arraignment.
Police said Leedom is accused of entering the bank on Route 72 at 9:35 a.m. wearing a bandanna, sunglasses and sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. He presented a note to the teller demanding money and threatening that he had a knife and gun, police said.
He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled on foot. Bank personnel provided a description to police, and Leedom was arrested a short distance on the bank. The cash, along with a knife, bandanna and sunglasses, were recovered, police said. No injuries resulted.
