An 80-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in southwest suburban Joliet.
The pedestrian, who was homeless, was struck near West Jefferson and North Reed streets and taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where he was pronounced dead at 2:57 p.m., according to the Will County coroner’s office.
The coroner’s office has not released his name pending notification of his family. Additional information on the incident was not immediately available early Wednesday.
Joliet police are investigating.
