Four people were injured, one of them critically, in a shooting in Palmdale Monday afternoon, and one suspect was in custody while another person was still being sought.
The call came in from the 37000 25th Street East just after 2 p.m. with a report of a gunshot wound, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman.
One patient had critical injuries and two had minor injuries, she said.
The fourth patient was originally “at large” but has since been located and was being treated in unknown condition, the fire spokeswoman said. Aerial video from Sky5 showed one person who appeared handcuffed being placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance, aerial video showed.
Two patients have been transported to local trauma center, and the two others to a local hospital, the Fire Department said on Twitter.
It’s not immediately clear if the number of patients includes the shooter or shooters.
One person was taken into custody, but another person remained outstanding, Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Vincent Plair initially said.
Dozens of patrol cars were responding, video from Sky5 showed. Deputies on foot appeared to be searching a nearby gated residential community.
Part of a strip mall was blocked off by patrol cars, including where a smoke shop and automotive repair business were located.
Multiple sheriff’s vehicles were surrounding an am/pm convenience store at an Arco gas station.
Both Plair and the Fire Department said the incident was not being considered an active-shooter situation.
