GARFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were shot and killed at a home in Newaygo County early Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the 7000 block of Wisner Avenue near 72nd Street in Garfield Township.
The Newaygo County prosecutor says police were called to the home for a domestic dispute and report of shots fired.
When officers arrived they found the bodies of a 49-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, according to the prosecutor. An 18-year-old man was also injured and taken to the hospital. The extent of his injuries are unclear.
Authorities don’t believe there’s a threat to the area.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time.
