Two people died and two others were taken into custody after a hit-and-run crash in Chatsworth late Friday, officials said.
The crash was reported about 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Chatsworth Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A black Dodge Ram pick up truck struck a red pick up truck, causing the red truck to turn on its side and a man and woman were trapped inside, said LAPD Detective Bill Bustos.
He described the impact of the crash as “very violent.”
The victims were eventually extricated from the truck, but were pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Keith Douglas said.
A man and a woman in the black truck left the crash site and officials found them west from the scene. They ere taken into custody and taken to a police station for questioning.
